The Protect-A-Bed Basic Mattress Protector is far from your basic cover. It is a two layer, breathable, waterproof mattress protector. The smooth polyester top serves as a more economical solution to protect your mattress, especially when you are already using a fitted sheet overtop. While it is less absorbent than a quilted or terry cloth top, this mattress pad is still waterproof. Co-branded by Protect-A-Bed and Gotcha Covered, the Basic Mattress Protector shields your mattress from unwanted moisture, dust mites, and other allergens. While this product does not eliminate dust mites, since it does not fully encase the mattress, it greatly reduces them. Also, since it is easier to take off and on to launder, this can be a better allergy solution than something that is too difficult to launder frequently.
This protector uses the Miracle Membrane® waterproof barrier to shield your mattress from liquids and other undesirables. Unlike other vinyl or rubber mattress protectors, the Miracle Membrane® is special because it breathes, allowing your body's heat to pass through it, which translates into a more comfortable sleeping surface. This is a fitted style mattress cover that is easy to remove, wash, and reapply. It is available in standard bed sizes, and is machine washable on hot - tumble dry safe on medium.

LAUNDERING INSTRUCTIONS:
Please wash and tumble dry the Encasement before using it the first time as this softens the product, improves the flexibility and eliminates any packaging odors.
Washing :
- Please do NOT use any bleach, bleach alternatives, non-chlorine bleach or any bleach by-products in the detergent, as this will destroy the polyurethane lining.
- The Encasement can be washed in hot water.
- Do NOT dry clean.
Drying :
- Dry together with some other bed linen or towels. The Encasement can be tumble dried on a medium heat for about 40 minutes (longer if needed - depending on your dryer)
- Careful drying will prevent blistering of the lining. If blisters do form from overheating of the dryer, please discontinue using the Encasement, as these blisters will split open and lead to the Encasement leaking.
